Lever action rifle manufactured circa 1884. Engraved & Finished by David Wade Harris. Features 28" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight grip, double set triggers, nickel finished action, curved steel buttplate. Bore is good to very good condition, bright with sharp rifling. Retains 85% re-blued finish on barrel and magazine tube, thinning and graying on edges of flats, streaks of discoloration along right side of barrel, visible small pits and dents under refinish. Action displays 50% coverage of all surfaces with floral scroll engraving, finished with very good to excellent nickel plating. Buttplate is smooth with mottled gray and light brown color. Screw slots are generally good with hammer screw showing significant marring. Small dents surround receiver pin locations. Holes for tang sight are missing the plug screws. Loading gate door does not have spring closed. Wood is very good condition, some small dents & scratches, varnished, good fit to metal. Lever operates smoothly. Second line of two line barrel address appears shallow. Condition is NRA Very Good as refinished *** Antique Firearm ***
