Lever action rifle manufactured circa 1887. Features 28" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight grip, Lyman tang peep sight, curved steel buttplate. Bore is good to very good condition, lightly frosted with strong rifling. Barrel & magazine tube show majority coverage of patina brown color, some darker bluing remaining on bottom flats of barrel and other protected areas. Action is mostly silvery gray bare metal with thin overlay of brown patina, small areas of pitting. Lever shows a gray color. Buttplate is mottled gray and brown color with slight rough texture. Most screw heads show some marring. Wood is good condition, dented & scratched, with several deep dents, steel bead or tack on bottom of butt. Lever operates smoothly. Two line barrel address appears shallow but even & readable. Condition is NRA Very Good *** Antique Firearm ***
