Marlin-Ballard No. 5 single shot rifle, .40-65 cal., 30” octagon barrel, double set triggers, wood stocks and wood cleaning rod, #13182. This gun is in overall good condition showing a dark patina on metal surfaces with scattered areas of erosion and some moderate to moderate + pitting on the barrel; receiver has gone to areas of silvery toning and dark patina with uncleaned erosion and lightly etched number “V442598” on left sideof receiver under patent date; overall good bore, good action and set triggers working at time of description; wood stocks are fair to good showing wear with some old chips at the front of the butt and two old horizontalcracks to the butt stock; front sight blade appears to be a portion of an old silver quarter.
