Mariette Brevete pepper box of large bore with original spike-bayonet and ebony grips circa 1850’s to 60’s. The pepper box shows six (6) barrel of approximately .50 caliber or 12.5 mm. The pepper box measures 7 ¼”overall with nearly 3 ¾” barrel cluster. The frame is lightly engraved in typical style and metal is good with some light pitting and erosion and some light new rust that would clean. The grips are good to very good, thespike is of the period and age matches. The action cocks but does not quite work or revolve properly. A real oddity for size and bayonet. From an old N.Y.
