According to the website, All About Pocket Knives, Marble's had a "rebirth" era from 1997-2004, and it was during that time that the company produced some of their best quality knives. The Michigan Company was started in 1892 and the Marble's Ideal was the first knife produced. by 1930, Marble's Ideal knife had become the standard in hunting knives. During the rebirth era, the company re-created the Ideal knife and this rare, non-production prototype is the high-quality, direct fruit of those efforts! The knife comes new in the box and includes the Marble's tanned leather sheath. The box is hand-marked, "Ideal-Bone 357M 2002 Proto-type". The 4.5" handle is burnt bone with half guard/ half hilt Ideal. The blade bears the Marble's logo and is printed on the other side, "2002 Photo Sample"; it measures 4.25", for an OAL of 8.75". Condition is new in box.
