For your consideration in this lot we have a Mali African wedding necklace made of glass trade beads. The necklace is made of glass artisan trade beads originating from Czechoslovakia and used for trading in Mali Africa. The beads are made of blown glass and show a wide array of colors and stripping. The necklace shows predominantly raindrop like beads with a few triangular and curved beads. This type of necklace was most commonly used for the bride to wear on the wedding day. Provenance: From the collection of Dr. David and Marsha Bowerly of Oregon. The piece comes with an original museum collection tag stating, “Wedding Beads $48" and "The Gold Door #59". The necklace shows good condition overall with some wear across the beads. The necklace shows an approximate circumference of 25" long.
