Major original oil painting on canvas entitled The Attack by noted western artist “Buck” McCain. Signed and dated 1974, lower right. The painting measures approx. 48” by 72” (artwork only). Nicely framed. Thesubject is a fleeing stagecoach being attacked by Mexican bandits with Winchesters and Colts. A great Southwestern scene. This particular painting hung in the Petersen Publishing office and was one of Mr.Petersen’s favorite western paintings as he enjoyed the action and drama it portrays. Buck McCain (1943 - ) grew up working on a cattle ranch in Southern California's Imperial Valley. His artwork has beenfeatured by art galleries throughout the West and particularly in Arizona.
