Major original oil painting on board entitled “Moment of Truth” signed lower right Douglas Van Howd, approx. 39-1/2” by 70-1/2” (artwork only). Shows herd of Cape Buffalo, one turning to confront pursuers. The artwork is in fine condition. Frame has been damaged from storage. Sticker dated 1973 on reverse indicating shown at International Art Exhibition, San Antonio, 1973. Douglas Van Howd (1935 - ) is a very well recognizedsculptor whose works are actively collected by an international clientele. His depiction of the Pony Express fills the entrance of the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV (Formerly MGM Grand) and his sculpture entitled Friends of Freedom is displayed in the Roosevelt room at the Whitehouse.
