Established by Charles Parker shortly after the Civil War, Parker Bros. has produced a wide variety of shotguns in different styles over the years. Parker shotguns are perhaps the best known of all American shotguns manufactured and are among the most collectable. Manufactured in 1909. The concave matte solid rib has front and mid bead sights and is marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. U.S.A. WHITWORTH STEEL" with pointing arrows at each end. Chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells, barrels gauge modified/improved cylinder with ejectors. The action, trigger guard, forearm hardware and break lever are highly engraved with fine floral scroll patterns and the serial number is engraved in relief on the lower tang. Amid the engraving on each side of the action is engraved "PARKER BROS". Scrollwork is also featured in a 2 inch wedge on the breech end of the barrels. The jeweled water table is marked with the three line patent dates on the right side and "AAH" over the serial number over "7" on the left side. Tang mounted automatic safety and double triggers. Mounted with an extra fancy select walnut forearm with engraved hardware and straight grip stock with Fleur-de-Lis stock flats having a checkered recess in the center and a fancy border on the wrist checkering, "C.H.P." marked initial oval, and solid recoil pad. As one of the higher grades that Parker Bros. offered, they manufactured only 179 of these AAHE Grade shotguns with Whitworth steel barrels. Length of pull is 14 5/8 inches, drop at comb 1 3/16 inches, drop at heel 2 inches, cast on 3/8 inches, toe out 3/8 inches.
