A) This is a magnificent cased set of engraved and gold inlaid Belgian percussion revolvers. The top strap is marked in gold "MANUFE DE C DANDOY A LIEGE/PAR PRIVILEGE DE/MRS DEANE ADAMS & DEANE BT'ES". The marking is bordered by a floral scroll design accented with gold inlaid flowers. The frame is decorated with floral scroll and flower designs with accents of gold inlaid flowers. The cylinder is decorated with a wooded field scene with two gold inlaid hunting dogs chasing a gold inlaid pig. The front edge of the cylinder has a geometric border and the rear edge scroll style border with accents of gold inlaid flowers. The muzzle of the barrel, front and back straps and the trigger guard are engraved with floral scroll designs, with a gold inlaid animals head on the trigger guard with a gold inlaid circle around it. The front of the frame and cylinder are marked with a crown over "crown/CD" over the matching serial number. The left side of the frame is marked "ADAMS/1851/PATENT". The revolver is finished in a high polish blue with bright spurless hammer, hammer block/safety and cylinder pin, dovetailed blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with a one-piece ivory grip with scroll carving. The buttcap is engraved with scroll designs and the cap compartment lid has a gold inlaid lions head. The pair are complete in a double deck wooden case with decorative contrasting inlaid wood bordering and a large ivory inlay in the center of the lid and around the lock. (These appear to have been added to the case at a later time). Each has its own set of accessories and this revolver has an iron patch cutter, brass two cavity bullet mold with iron sprue cutter and marked "REGISTERED/R. ADAMS" with "28 Nov./1851" in the center over "54/crown/CD", bag shaped lacquered powder flask, nickel oiler, round wooden container with screw-on lid, wooden handled nipple wrench, extra cylinder with the same markings, engraving and gold inlays, (horse instead of a pig) cardboard J. Goldmark cap container, partially full, combination nipple wrench/screwdriver, 3 round lead bullets and a wooden handled ramrod/cleaning rod.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 50% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. All of the gold inlay remains. The grip is excellent with nice sharp carving and a very pleasant dark patina. The engraving and markings remain crisp and clear. The action is fine. The case is very good with some scattered minor dings and scratches on the exterior. The lining has faded and is drying out, showing some contact wear and some crumbling. The extra cylinder has a smooth gray patina with clear engraving and all of the gold inlay remaining. All of the accessories are very good.
- B) The top strap is gold inlaid "MANUFE DE DANDOY A LIEGE/PAR PRIVILEGE DE/MRS DEANE ADAMS & DEANE BRTES". The frame is decorated with floral and geometric engraved designs with accents of gold inlaid flowers and a field scene at the bottom of both sides with a gold inlaid hunting dog chasing a gold inlaid fox. The cylinder is decorated with a hunting scene of gold inlaid hunters on horseback with two gold inlaid hunting dogs chasing a gold inlaid deer. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked with a "crown/N", and the front of the frame and cylinder are marked with a "crown/CD" over the matching serial number. The trigger guard is engraved with geometric designs with a gold inlaid hunting dog lying down in an oval panel flanked by a gold inlaid flower. The left side of the frame is marked "ADAMS/1851/PATENT". All blue finish with a bright spurless hammer, dovetailed blade front and notch rear sight, and fitted with checkered and floral carved gutta percha one-piece grip. The buttcap is engraved with shell designs, accented with gold inlaid flowers and the cap lid has a gold inlaid game bird. This revolver is stored it its own compartment of the case and has the same accessories as "A" with the exception of the patch cutter, 4 round lead bullets and one conical. The extra cylinder for this revolver is engraving with a hunting scene with two gold inlaid hunters on horseback with lances hunting a gold inlaid lion. There is a floral scroll border on the front and rear edges. The cylinder is marked with the "crown/CD" and numbered to the gun.

Condition: Fine. The revolver retains 40% of the original bright blue finish with a gray patina on the balance. There is some minor pitting on the barrel. All of the gold inlay remains. The extra cylinder has a smooth gray patina with all of the gold inlay remaining. The grip is very good with a few minor dings, crisp checkering and sharp pattern. The markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine. The lining in this revolvers compartment is not as faded as is "A"s, there is some contact wear, some separation between the case wall and lining, and some of the edging is absent. An impressive double cased set of engraved and gold inlaid Belgian percussion revolvers with all the accessories.
