A) Dovetailed bead front and notch rear sights, with a Liege oval proof on the left barrel flat. The barrel is finished in a high polish blue, with German silver wedge escutcheons and a satin gray finish on the other components, along with fine decorative scroll engraving. Carved ribbed pistol grip stock, with carved scrollwork on the tip and a matching contoured buttplate. In a black lacquered hardwood case, decorated with a brass lid plaque engraved with a shield design. The case is lined with red velvet, marked in gold "VERNEY J.re/A LYON" inside the lid, and contains both pistols, loading and cleaning rods, ebony mallet, nipple wrench, powder measure, 2 lidded jars and a pair of lidded compartments.

Condition: Excellent, with 97% of the bright original high polish blue finish, showing a gray patina along the high edges and light scratches and handling marks, and the satin finished componets show a small amount of spotting. The stock is excellent, with minor dents and scratches. Case is fine, with mild dents and cracks on the exterior and mild stains and wear on the liner, which has taken on a yellow-tan color overall, with original red in the compartments. Bullet mold not included. Mechanically excellent.
