ANTIQUE GERMAN BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLES.
1) MODEL 1888 COMMISSION RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. NSN. Bbl. 28 3/8". Rifle has had all markings & numbers removed except for GEW88 on left side of receiver. Straight bolt handle. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Front sight is not present. Cleaning rod is not present. Upper band w/ bayonet lug. Walnut stock. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1871 Italian 20 1/4" fullered blade bayonet. Bayonet has tiny acceptance marks on both sides at ricasso. Curved quillion. S# on right side of hilt. Black composite grips. Leather scabbard w/ metal throat. Approx. 4" of scabbard tip is missing. Bayonet has been sharpened. Has light wear turning patina. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear & handling marks throughout. Receiver & bolt are bright. Balance of parts have 70% blue w/ wear & light oxidation. Good shiny bore. (01-19503/RW).
2) MODEL 71-84 MAUSER. Cal. 11mm Mauser. S# 2549. All visible #s match except bolt assembly. Bbl. 31 1/2". Straight bolt handle. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1,600 meters. Inverted V front sight. Receiver is marked on left side in German script "I.G. Mod. 71/84". Marked on right side "1886". Bbl. is marked on top over chamber w/ crown Spandau & marked on top of left flap w/ crown FW. Numerous proofs & acceptance marks. Stacking rod is present. Walnut stock has crown acceptance marks on right side. Buttplate unit markings are "3.G.G.R. R.283." CONDITION: stock has added finish w/ light wear, dents, scratches & staining throughout. Metal has turned overall patina w/ traces of blue. Metal has oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Bright receiver & bolt turning gray. Very good shiny bore. (01-19504/RW). BOTH ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
