This lot features a M1855 Socket Bayonet with Civil War era scabbard. Socket bayonet used with the .58 caliber M1855, M1861, and M1863 rifle-muskets. The standard socket bayonet used by union forces during the U.S. Civil War, 1.5 million were produced by Springfield Armory and private contractors 1857–1865. The scabbard is black leather with a brass cap. The overall condition of the pieces in this lot is good for its age. Measures: 22" L x 17" Blade Length
