Lot of 5 old photo copies and old descriptions from the famous N. H. Rose collection of Western outlaw and lawman images including outlaw Grant Wheeler, cattleman and Graham faction member John Blevins (Graham-Tewksbury feud in Arizona); a group photo copy of Capt. Sam McMurry’s Texas Rangers (original was taken ca 1889); copy of photo of Capt. Rufe C. Perry of Co. D, Texas Rangers, Frontier Battalion, 1874, with his Indian trailer, Brazlinscom and a photo copy of three U.S. Marshals displaying their Colt SAA revolvers and a pair of leg irons (2 identified as Thomas O. Bailes and Sam Walker). Noah H. Rose (1874-1952) was the founder of Frontier Times magazine and the Frontier Times Museum in Bandera, TX. According to a copy of a Sept. 12, 1937 San Antonio Light newspaper article (included with this lot), Rose started shooting pictures with a tin camera he received while a kid and by the turn of the century had already started a collection of photos of frontier scenes and characters (with over 2,000 negatives at that time).
