Lot of 2 edged weapons. Number 1 is an interesting clip point Bowie knife with wide blade marked M.S. A. & Co. Gladstone, Michigan possibly Marbles. The blade measure 6” the knife is 10 ¼” overall and the bladeis nearly 1 5/8” wide at widest point. The grip is yellow stag which is. Engraved in block letters A. D. Johnson. There is a Marbles marked fringed leather scabbard accompanying the knife which is slightly toolarge for the knife and is opening at the seams and has had a belt hangar with brass liner added to the back of the scabbard. Marked in ink or paint A. D. Johnson with some other illegible writing. There wereseveral Johnson’s in the mining business in the California desert one of which became Death Valley Scotty’s patron (A.M. Johnson) and an entire ghost town is named Johnsonville. Number 2 is a Marbles axe withpatented blade cover and folding back pick showing gutta-percha grip marked Marbles and on the back in stamped letters A. D. Johnson. The axe has seen some wear and shows some slight pitting but is at least good overall
