Manufactured in 1876. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, two patent dates and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, trigger guard and back strap and the cylinder is numbered "4317". The bottom of the barrel ahead of the cylinder pin is marked with a "Crown/V" and "Crown/GP" proof, with the same proof marks alternating between each chamber on the cylinder. The left trigger guard shoulder is marked "45 CAL/B". Most of the Single Action chambered for the .45 Boxer cartridge were shipped to England. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with a one piece smooth walnut grip. The accompanying factory letter verifies the 45 Eley Short, (only 1,150 revolvers were made in this caliber), caliber, blue finish at the time of shipment, barrel length and grips are "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as I of 112 guns to Colt's Patent Firearms Mfg. Company, London Agency, 14 Pall Mall, London, England on October 26, 1876.

Condition: Period replated with 95% of the frosted nickel finish remaining. There is an area next to the hammer on the recoil shield where the finish has flaked off. The slightly oversized replacement grips are very good with some fitting marks present on the bottoms and a few light scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
