Scarce London Armory Kerr's Patent percussion revolver with Confederate "J.S Anchor" markings on the grip. The anchor stamp was probably applied as an export stamp for revolvers purchased by the Confederate government. The right side of the frame is marked "KERR'S PATENT. 4696" and the left side is marked "LONDON / ARMOURY", with "LONDON ARMOURY CO." on the lock plate. The upper left barrel flat is stamped "L.A.C." followed by two proof marks. Individual chambers are proof marked between the nipple recesses. The cylinder has the serial number engraved on it. The Kerr revolver was a high quality weapon that saw wide service in the Confederate armies. A Kerr revolver with the scarce "J.S. Anchor" markings would be a key piece in any advanced Civil War collection.
