This lot offers you the chance to bid on a pair of novels written by Elbert Hubbard and published by Roycrofters in Aurora, New York. The novels are titled "Little Journeys to the Homes of Great Musicians Vol. VIII & IX". These novels are excellent first print examples dating back to 1901. The books features soft covers with yapp edges, and bright white pages. Book I covers the works of Richard Wagner, Nicola Paganini, Frederick Chopin, Wolfgang Mozart, Sebastian Bach, and Felix Mendelssohn - Book II includes Franz Lizst, Ludwig Beethoven, Georg Handel, Giuseppe Verdi, Robert Schumann, as well as Johannes Brahms. Book I was believed to be illuminated by Gertrude Audmorn (Please reference photos), Book II was illuminated by Florence Himney (Please reference photos). Both of these novels showcase good overall condition for age, displaying browning to the paper edges, and creases to the yapp edges, Book I also has some water spots on the suede cover. Each book measures 6 1/4" wide x 8" tall x 1 1/4" thick.
