Lindsay-patent U.S. model 1863 double-shot rifled musket, .58 caliber percussion, superposed loads, 41-1/8” barrel, arsenal bright finish, cartouche wood stocks, refer Flayderman 9A-342. The rifle remains in fine to near excellent original condition showing its uncleaned arsenal bright, just a couple areas of very minute aging just starting. Quenched original blue finish on rear sight and nipples. Stock shows two sharp cartouches and is still a nice light color with no breaks in the wrist as these were fragile in that area. A couple of minor storage marks in the wood and two minor dings. Just one very slight age crack behind tang screw. A strong 9.6-9.8 on a 1-10 scale. As near arsenal original issue condition as one can expect to find a Civil War arm, with its original ramrod and wood tampion. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
