Included in this lot we have a Lawrence Barrett framed lithograph titled "Horse Wrangler" originating from 1939. Lawrence Barrett (1897-1973) was a talented American artist and art teacher. Barrett was a skilled illustrator, painter, sculptor, etcher, lithographer, and writer. This piece depicts a cowboy on the back of a bucking horse as three unsaddled horses run out of a open corral. The background shows three hills raising to meet dark clouds. The piece is marked in pencil "Horse Wrangler" in the bottom left side and is signed "Lawrence Barrett" in the right hand corner. The piece is set into a wood frame with a white border around the art. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The piece shows good condition with a clear film across the glass. The frame measures 21 1/4" wide by 18 3/4" tall with the art measuring 12 3/4" wide by 9 1/2" tall.
