Late WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Matching Numbered Magazine, #57318, 8mm Nambu cal., 4.75" barrel, blued finish, all visible numbers matching including the magazine, Toriimatsu factory of Nagoya Arsenal proof marks, dated Showa 19.9 (Sept. 1944), large trigger guard, drift adjustable inverted "V" front sight, integral fixed rear sight with square notch, coarse knurled cocking knob, and lanyard loop. Grooved mahogany wood grips are numbered to the gun, with one matching number blued steel magazine with pot metal base. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 90% original late-war blued finish, minor wear at rear of the slide edges, a couple of small wear marks from firing on the top of the slide, thinning to the bluing on the trigger guard and grip straps, light freckling on the barrel, sides of the frame around the grips and trigger guard and rear of frame sides, and typical half-moon scratches around the safety lever area. There is some white grease pencil highlighting to the markings on the frame and slide. Action, hold open, and safety function properly, but it will fire with the magazine removed; bore is bright and shiny with one tiny spot of frosting that may clean to mint. Grips are very nice showing little to no wear or use, with one small mark from the safety lever on the top edge of the left grip. Magazine shows light wear and lines from use, with light soiling and oxidation to the base. Overall, a very nice example. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R/PPT)
