Late Production U.S. Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle

This a nice late production M1 Garand rifle as manufactured by Springfield Armory, that was subsequently rebuilt in 1965. The side of the receiver leg is marked "SA-1-65" and the barrel is marked "S-A-6-48", with the breech end still in the white. It is fitted with various manufacturer's parts with a WWII trigger group, a SA-12 WWII bolt assembly with a early post-WWII operating rod marked "D35382 SA". It is fitted with a set of post war sights with a "DRC" marked windage drum and elevation knob. The barrel is fitted with a wide base gas cylinder, round top gas cylinder lock and late four-slot gas plug. It is currently fitted with a GI walnut stock and handguard set. The stock is marked on the left side with a boxed "AAH1" cartouche next to a DOD cartouche with a single encircled "P" proof in the pistol grip area.

Very fine with 99% of the arsenal refurbished parkerized finish overall with light edge and high spot wear overall, with some light finish loss on the receiver rail and top of the bolt. The stock and handguards are all in very fine condition with the stock having been lightly arsenal refurbished and glass bedded under the trigger guard housing (only). The cartouches and proofs are clear and distinct. Mechanically fine.
