Late-19th Century Crow Brass Tacked Sheath & Knife
The lot features a circa 1890’s Crow brass tacked harness leather sheath and trade knife. The sheath exhibits thick brown harness saddle leather and is adorned with brass trade tacks in linear bands, a documented pattern used amongst the Northern Plains in Montana, the Crow and Blackfeet / Blackfoot. The old trade knife has brass tacks on the wooden handle in cross motifs. This is a nice large, warrior’s knife set in will kept condition with expected wear. Provenance: From the Tom Hardy Indianapolis, Indian collection. Sheath measures 14 ¼ inches in length by 5 inches wide, Knife is 15 inches long.
