This is an example of an early French Marine Model 1786 flintlock pistol with a lock plate script marked "MN/De Tulle". The rear left side of the barrel is stamped "3B". Brass furniture and the pistol was manufactured without sights. The smooth stock has provisions for a ramrod (not included) and is stamped "RPF/F" on the left flat.

Condition: Fair. The pistol has a mottled gray patina with minor pitting. The brass has an even patina with a number of minor dings on the buttcap. The stock is fine with a number of minor handling marks. Action needs work as hammer does not hold at full cock. Missing ramrod.
