Large spear point Bowie knife marked on both side of ricasso “Clarenbach & Herder, Philada” circa about 1860 with 11” blade, 17” overall remaining in fine to near excellent condition. The blade and S shaped guard show most of its original polish and blade is its full original dimension showing almost no use and just slight staining, minor beginning age. The marine ivory grip is fine to excellent with a great patina. A rarelyencountered American knife maker and a desirable large size. Est.;$3,000-$6,000.
