Offered for public sale is a finely beaded knife sheath and 19th Century trade knife. The sheath is attributed to the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians and shows an Indian tanned hide with a traditional geometric beadwork. The piece shows glass trade seed beads in Cheyenne pink, chalk white, semi=transparent green, semi-transparent violet, semi-transparent greasy yellow, and black. The reservation period piece is adorned with hand-rolled tin jingle cone dangles and a beaded drop. The knife shows a hardwood grip secured to the large blade, possibly early kitchen knife turned fighting knife, with two copper/brass rivets and a pierced end. The scabbard shows overall good condition and completes the early trade knife well. Sheath is 10.25" long and the knife is 10.5" long.
