For your consideration is this Pressure Demand Respirator, in use at one time in Glacier National Park's "Lake McDonald Water System". Glacier National Park consists of over 1,000,000 of land in Northern Montana along the Canadian Border. Nicknamed "Crown of the Continent", Glacier National Park boasts over 700 lakes; of those, 131 are named. Lake McDonald is the largest and the deepest--10 miles long and nearly 500 feet deep. The lake and its valley are the hub of activity on the west side of the Park. According to the website, WorkplaceTesting, "A Pressure Demand Respirator is a type of positive pressure respirator. These types of respirators supply clean air to the wearer through a hose or other delivery mechanism...A pressure demand respirator may be used in situations where a worker must enter an area that contains airborne contaminants such as dust or gases. The respirator prevents contaminated air from entering the workers airways and supplies him or her with a supply of clean air. This respirator has an information plate and comes with papers identifying it as a Globe Guardsmen Ulra-Flo Pressure Demand Air Mask. The unit consists of a yellow facemask, a pressure-demand regulator, backpack harness assembly, and cylinder and valve assembly. Unit looks to be gently used; no further testing has been done. The unit comes in a large black case. The case is Stenciled, "Lake McDonald Water System/ USNPS". On the inside of the case is further stenciling, "Plumbing Shop West". The unit and case are in good condition. The case measures 17" x 27" x 9.5".
