PATTERN BAYONETS. Lot consists of: 1) US Model 1942 bayonet mfg. by Utica Cutlery Co. in 1942. Blade measures 15 7/8" in length, with an overall length of 20 1/2". Ricasso is stamped "U. C./ U. (FLAMING ORDNANCE BOMB) S./ 1942". Blade, guard, and pommel exhibit a parkerized finish, with the grip being comprised of 2-piece grooved black plastic grip panels. Bayonet is fitted with a USN Mk 1 green plastic scabbard. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal finish, exhibiting some wear and superficial handling marks overall. Blade tip has been slightly blunted. Grips exhibit some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some light wear, but otherwise is good overall. 2) M1 bayonet mfg. by American Fork & Hoe. Blade measures 9 7/8", with an overall length of 14 3/8". Left side of ricasso is marked "AFH/ U (FLAMING ORDNANCE BOMB) S" Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece grooved black plastic grips. Fitted with a standard green plastic scabbard. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal finish, exhibiting some mild wear and some superficial marks from handling and storage. Grips show scattered handling marks, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some mild wear, but otherwise is good. 3) M1 bayonet mfg. by American Fork & Hoe. Blade measures 9 3/4", with an overall length of 14 1/4". Left side of ricasso is marked "AFH/ U (FLAMING ORDNANCE BOMB) S" Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece grooved black plastic grips. Fitted with a Danish "HMAK" (Army Material Command) wood grain scabbard. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their arsenal finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning overall, with some light pitting on the blade. Grips show scattered handling marks, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some mild wear, but otherwise is good. 4) M1 bayonet mfg. by Utica Cutlery Co. in 1943. Blade measures 9 1/2", with an overall length of 14 1/8". Ricasso is marked "U. C./ U. (FLAMING ORDNANCE BOMB) S./ 1943". Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece grooved black plastic grip. Bayonet is fitted with a Danish "HTK" (Army Technical Corps) wood grain scabbard. CONDITION: metal components exhibit heavy wear, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina overall. Grips shows scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows moderate wear and some scattered handling marks, but otherwise is good overall. 5) M1 bayonet mfg. by Utica Cutlery Co. in 1943. Blade measures 9 1/2", with an overall length of 14 1/8". Ricasso is marked "U. C./ U. (FLAMING ORDNANCE BOMB) S./ 1943". Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece grooved black plastic grip. Bayonet is fitted with a Danish "FKF" (Defense War - Material Administration) wood grain scabbard. CONDITION: metal components exhibit moderate wear and thinning, with areas of gray patina overall. Grips shows smoothing scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows moderate wear and some scattered handling marks, but otherwise is good overall. 6) Excavated M1 bayonet. Blade measures 9 5/8", with an overall length of 14 1/4". Mfg. markings are illegible. Scabbard not present. CONDITION: as found, with heavy dark brown pitting present overall. Grips exhibit scattered handling marks and some chipping, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. 7) M4 bayonet mfg. by Imperial. Blade measures 6 5/8", with an overall length of 11 1/2". Top of guard is marked "U.S. M4/ IMPERIAL". Grooved brown leather grip. Bayonet is fitted with an M8 scabbard by B M Co. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their arsenal finish overall, exhibiting some scattered handling marks and some light edge wear. Grip shows a few handling marks, but otherwise is very good overall. Scabbard shows some light to mild wear, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. 8) M6 bayonet mfg. by Imperial. Blade measures 6 3/4", with an overall length of 11 3/8". Top of guard is marked "U.S. M6" and "IMPERIAL". Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Bayonet is fitted with an M8A1 scabbard by VIZ. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning overall. Grips exhibit some smoothing and scattered handling marks, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard exhibits mild to moderate exterior wear, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. 9) Unmarked Italian BM-59 bayonet. Blade measures 6 5/8", with an overall length of 11 1/2". Metal components exhibit a parkerized finish. 2-piece grooved brown plastic grips. Bayonet is fitted with an unmarked M8A1 pattern scabbard. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning overall, with some silvering along blade edges from sharpening. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some flaking to its painted exterior, but otherwise is good overall.
