LOT OF 7 PRIMARILY WINCHESTER MODEL 70 BARRELS.
1) 26" Winchester Model 70 bbl. mfg. in 1948 originally chambered in .300 Magnum and subsequently rechambered for the .300 Weatherby Magnum cartridge with "WEATHERBY/ 300 MAGNUM" stamped above the original "300 MAGNUM" caliber designation. Underside of bbl. is stamped "300M" and "48" towards the breech. Blued finish with stippled front sight ramp. Front and rear sights are not present. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their period blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning with some scattered spots of discoloration overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. 2) 26" Winchester Model 70 bbl. originally chambered in .300 H&H Magnum and subsequently rechambered in .300 Weatherby Magnum. The bbl. is hand stamped "WBY." beneath "H&H" in the cal. designation. Blued finish with grooved ramp front sight base. Blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some small spots of wear and thinning with scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, and some scattered spots of light oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. 3) 26" Winchester Model 70 bbl. chambered in .300 Magnum mfg. in 1950. Underside of bbl. is stamped "300M" and "50" towards the breech. Blued finish with stippled front sight ramp base. Front and rear sights are not present. CONDITION: bbl. retains the majority of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some light pitting and some scratches, retaining well defined rifling throughout. 4) 24" Winchester Model 70 bbl. chambered in ".30 GOV'T.'06" mfg. in 1949. Underside of bbl. is stamped "1906" and "49" at the breech. Blued finish with stippled ramp front sight base. Front and rear sights are not present. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning, some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, as well as a few small scattered spots of light oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. 5) 22" Winchester Model 70 Featherweight bbl. chambered in .308 Winchester, mfg. in 1954. Underside of bbl. is stamped "54" towards the breech. Blued finish with stippled front ramp sight base. Front sight is not present. U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: bbl. retains the majority of its original factory blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning, with some scattered spots of light pitting and surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. 6) 22 7/8" Winchester Model 1873 bbl. originally mfg. in a full length octagonal configuration and subsequently modified via the rounding of the front half of the bbl., shortening of the bbl., and the addition of a grooved ramp blade front sight. Bbl. has been drilled and tapped with 2-slots at the cal. designation and 2-slots just forward of the rear sight slot. Bbl. exhibits a blued finish. CONDITION: bbl. retains traces of its blued finish (with more bluing remaining in protected areas), exhibiting wear, thinning, and cleaning striations with scattered spots of pitting and mild surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting scattered spots of moderate pitting and strong rifling throughout. 7) 24" Remington Model 700 bbl. rechambered in .340 Weatherby Magnum. Left side of bbl. is stamped ".340 WBY. MAG." with what appears to be the remnants of an "RE" stamp above. Bbl. exhibits a reapplied black enamel finish. Ramped and hooded brass bead front sight with miniscule V-notched rear sight. Muzzle is fitted with a radial muzzle brake. CONDITION: good with metal components retaining the majority of their reapplied black enamel finish, exhibiting some mild superficial marks from handling and storage overall.
