LATE PRODUCTION U.S. SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 BOLT
ACTION MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 1316524. Bbl. 24", marked behind front sight "SA (flaming bomb) 9-29." Ladder rear sight without volley notch graduated to 2850 yards. Ladder and movable base marked "R". Blade front sight. The movable base is marked "R.". The replacement bolt is from a 1903 A3 rifle marked underneath the handle "R.". Bolt sleeve is scalloped "SMITH CARONA PRODUCTION." Both the safety and cocking piece are unmarked. All milled furniture, including the smooth trap buttplate and grooved trigger. The trigger guard is marked "R" on the right side. Unmarked replacement MKI walnut straight grip stock set with clearance for the ejection port on the left side, two recoil bolts, and grasping grooves. Unmarked brown leather military-style sling. CONDITION: stock set has a worn arsenal rework finish, plus numerous small handling marks. Metal has 60% of its arsenal rework-type finish with an added protective finish, plus thinning and wear.
