The included factory letter confirms the serial number, Specialty Grade, gauge, barrel length, regular frame, automatic ejectors, selective hunter one trigger, beavertail forend, and ventilated rib with the shotgun started on September 12, 1926, finished on November 18, 1926, and shipped on November 19, 1926 to Bourne and Bond (no address given). Dual ivory bead sights, 2 3/4" chamber, choked full/improved modified. Scroll engraved frame with game bird scenes on the side plate. Checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with vented Pachmayr White Line recoil pad and initial shield near the toe. LOP: 13 3/8". With mutton case. Consignor notes state that this shotgun belonged to renowned trapshots Frank Troeh. Known as the Ty Coobb of Trapshooting, Frank Troeh established himself as one of America's greatest trapshots. Troeh was a member of the 1920 American Olympic trapshooting team and won 21 state championships. Highlights from this impressive winning record include the GAH doubles three times, North American clay Target in 1926 and the 18-yard championship in 1918. It is known that from 1912 to 1931 he fired at 104,470 registered ATA target for a mark of .9725.

Condition: Refinished barrels and wood. The barrels retain 97% thinning blue finish. The frame retains traces of original case colors in the protected areas, otherwise faded to a gray. The wood is excellent with some minor dings and scratches with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering and ill-fitting recoil pad. The mutton case is fair with detached end cap, detached lid hinge and some minor handling marks.
