Key-wind pocket watch by American Watch Co. Action signed Bartlett, numbered “669355”, made Waltham, Mass. Coin silver case, with period inscriptions. The dust cover for face is inscribed “Edw’d Smith Co. E. 28th Reg. PV. 2nd Div, 20th AC”. The r dust cover is inscribed in period script by another hand, “Killed at Kenesaw, MT. GA. June 27th 1864. His 23 birthday”. The rear case cover inscribed by a third hand in period script “Presented to James T. Smith by A. W. Ingham Smith 1891”. The watch is not running, the crystal is broken. The inscriptions are absolutely genuine. An heirloom that was passed on and deserves further research. Est: $500 - $1,500
