Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
Size 7.5 large Navajo oval cluster has a center oval spiny oyster surrounded by 12 round spiny oyster shells. The center shell measures 22.9 mm x 8.9 mm and each of the 12 round ones are approximately 5 mm in diameter. The over all ring measures 37.4 x 23.6 mm and weighs 13.4 g. The band is made up of 3 rope bands and is 4.2 mm wide (see images for details). Ring is stamped sterling and KS (we believe this to be the pre 1990's work of Kirk Smith he now cursive signs all his work) for the artist it also has S RING etched into the center under band.
