Thomas (Tommy) Singer (born 1940 - May 31, 2014)
He is one of the most regarded silversmiths in Navajo history having created the ‘CHIP INLAY’ an intricate use of turquoise and coral chips integrated in to the silver work. This method made Mr. Singer famous world around in the 60’s. He is known for his overlay work, storyteller pieces, rug patterns and traditional motifs.
24" Coral bead necklace with 7 Sterling bear charms & matching bear earrings. The 6 side bears on the necklace measure approx. 17.7 mm x 12.25 mm and the center bear measures approx. 32.2 mm x 20.9 mm. All of the bears have a sunface in the center made of coral, turquoise, mother-of-pearl and jet &/or onyx. The coral beads measure approx. 4.5 mm in diameter and are off set by 2.9 mm sterling beads where each charm is attached. Necklace has silver colored cone tip ends with hook closure. Matching earrings measure 17.3 mm x 13 mm. Necklace weighs 28 grams is marked sterling & .925 and is Initialed by the artist K. L. Earrings weigh 3 grams and are marked sterling & .925 and are initialed DF.
