Joslyn breech loading military rifle made by Springfield Armory, .50 caliber rimfire, 35-1/2” round barrel fastened by three bands, serial #2148. Recent information has identified these arms as the first truebreech loading cartridge weapon made at a national armory. Refer Flayderman: 9A-352. The rifle remains in fine to excellent condition showing arsenal bright on barrel, lock, small parts. The breech block is casehardened with 90-95% case hardening remains. The stock is aslso fine to near excellent with a couple of dings, marks, storage marks. The action is sharp and crisp, the ramrod channel shows sharp edges with just a coupleof small nicks. The cleaning rod, bayonet, and sling are included. The markings are sharp, the lock is near excellent with just beginning normal aging. The bore is excellent and appears to be unused.
