Joslyn, .44 caliber percussion single action Civil War era revolver, serial number 1286. There is a letter A stamped on the bottom of the frame in center portion just ahead of trigger guard and also a letter B on the right side of butt strapunderneath the grips. The metal surfaces show a light gray to brown patina finish with some traces case hardening on hammer and lever. Scattered light to moderate erosion and surface pitting on the metal but generally good edges and goodoverall. The grips are also good to very good with some dings, mars and minor imperfections but still fairly sharp checkering. Approximately 3000 were produced during the Civil War of which most were purchased by states of Ohio, Illions,Indiana, Kansas and etc. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate.
