In 1826, Joseph Lang married James Purdey’s daughter and purchased stock left from J. Manton’s bankruptcy. In 1875 the company name was changed to Joseph Lang and Son after the original Joseph died and his sons, James and Joseph, ran the business. In 1887 there was a falling out between the brothers and James left. Joseph Lang and Son continued until 1890.
