An original World War II Johnson Rifle that has been customized during the 1960's when these were readily available and cheap. The front sight has been replaced with a ramp front sight with raised brass bead front sight, with standard military rear sight. Original Johnson Automatic markings on top of the receiver. The trigger guard, safety, ejector and front swivel stud have been gold plated. It has been fitted with a custom walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a contrasting grip cap, cheek piece, vented rubber Winfield recoil pad. The stock and forend have been professionally deep relief carved in a vine pattern on the sides of the pistol grip and forend. With a fine stiphed border around the carving. In the center of the carving, both areas feature a nice fine checkered pattern with wide border.
BBL: 23 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 30-06

Serial Number: B3109
Condition: Good as custom embellished and refinished. The original parkerizing was polished off, then reblued, which has faded to a gray patina with traces of parkerized and blue finish in protected areas. Most of the gold plating remains on the parts noted above. The stock is very good with a few minor nicks and scratches, with sharp relief carving and checkering. The recoil pad is dried out and cracking. The receiver marking is partially visible only. The action is fine. This rifle could be easily restored with new wood and a reparkerizing of the metal..
