Japanese wakasashi or medium size sword with old handmade blade and fine silver mounts with decorative lacquered scabbard. The sword shows a good wrap to the handle with quality menuki with matching kozuka knife totsuba which shows same mon or royal crest. The tang is unsigned with one hole and dates 150-300 years old judging by the rust and file marks. The hibaki is silver with detailed file marks. The blade shows analmost straight temper and is in almost very good condition and temper extends around tip. The scabbard shows fancy engraved silver re-enforcements at its ends. A quality Japanese sword with fine mounts belonging toa personage of rank. Est.;$4,000-$8,000.
