Item/Description: Japanese Tokoname redware vase, an iron-rich clay from the Chita Peninsula Japan that turns deep coral red when fired. Late Meiji to early Taisho period, circa 1890-1920s. Features characteristic hand-molded, high-relief dragon in the clouds motif with gilded or painted scales wrapping around a stippled orange peel textured body. Marked on underside with seal and hand-written inscription.

Dimensions: Length: 9"; Width: 9"; Height: 15 1/2"

Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include discoloration, paint loss, general surface wear, and chipping to top of rim.
