36 plate black lacquered Tetsu (Iron) Suji Bachi helmet, raised ribs where plates join, each plate is connected with five hammered rivets, overall shape is known as akoda-nari due to its resemblance to the akoda, a squash-like fruit. The Tehen (Central top piece) is 4 layered, and the Mabisashi (Visor) has three large rivets, and the traditional red lacquer on the underside (Chipped). Has Wakidate-No-Tsunomoto, side crest holders. (The left one is broken) Has the Haraidate, fore crest holder. No liner, or Shikoro (neck protector). This type of ridged helmet was worn by upper-class samurai beginning in the Muromachi period (1392–1573).
