Item/Description: Japanese Kutani aka-e porcelain bowl. Meiji period, circa 1868-1912. Finely potted with deep sides, the interior masterfully painted in overglaze iron red and gilt with a central medallion of Daikokuten (God of Wealth) surrounded by twelve oval cartouches depicting diverse landscapes, birds, and scholars.

Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include chipping on rim of plate, scratching, and markings. Craquelure on bottom.
