Japanese Katana in tradition samurai mountings, with early hand forged iron tsuba. The blade measures 26-1/2” across cutting edge. The blade is in near fine condition with a couple of nicks, no major flaws, someminor scratches, slight imperfections in manufacture with good quality. Blade is fairly straight in design. Tang shows writing on each side, probably signature and date. One hole in tang. Tang measures nearly 8” inlength. From style and aging we would place the manufacture at 150-350 years old. Photographs of tang available to interested buyers. The tsuba shows a stylized bird, possibly a Phoenix bird, and three leaf monor crest. The mounts are rough forged iron of an unusual style and there are two large minuki under a traditional wrap in the handle. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
