J and F Garrett, Greensboro, N.C., Confederate single shot pistol in .54 caliber percussion with 8 ½” barrel and cast brass frame with wooden grips similar in styling to Blunt & Syms. 1 of approximately 500 estimated to have been producedand serial numbered 80. There is a J.H. inspectors type stamp on the left rear portion of the barrel near the breech and the name Wm. Kosler is neatly engraved on the left side of the frame in script letters. The pistol remains in good to very goodcondition showing some light cleaning and some light to moderate pitting mostly on the hammer. The original rod and swivel are retained. The grips are good with some small losses, slight dings, mars, scratches and normal aging. ReferFlayderman 10 – 008. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.: 3500 to 7000
