J. S. Collins & Co. tooled leather left-handed holster and cartridge belt with holster fitting a Colt SAA 5-1/2” barrel revolver in overall very good condition with marking “J.S. Collins & Co., Cheyenne, Wyo.”on the front of the holster that is also stamped “45” and the same cartouche on the base of the belt strap; square metal buckle. The cartridge belt is supple with some stitching losses and normal wear; the holster maintains its full length skirt also showing normal wear with a row of old small stitching holes that are now empty. This desirable Western rig descended in the family of the original owner and was consigned tous by the grandson of Nathaniel Bradford. Born in 1870, his father died in a logging accident when Nat was 14. The family moved to Texas in 1884 in a covered wagon. Nat and his brother Daniel Silas were taken in by anuncle in Southeastern Oklahoma where they worked as cowboys. In 1886, the boys went by horseback to Wyoming, where the rig was likely purchased, and later returned to Texas in the 1890’s. Nathaniel died in 1951 and
