Produced in Suhl by J.P. Sauer & Sons. Inverted "V" and tangent sights, "eagle/swastika" proof on left side of the barrel and receiver ring, an "eagle/280" proof on the right side of the ring, an "eagle/17" proof over script "ce / 42" on top of the ring, script "ce" with the letter "D" on right side of barrel, and "Mod.98" (traces remain) in script on the left receiver wall. Matching numbers on receiver, bolt assembly, floor plate, trigger base and front barrel band. Laminate stock with Heer proof on the buttstock, cupped buttplate and leather sling. Fitted with a bayonet with a 10" blade marked "W.K.C.", "eagle/WaA253" proofs, numbered to sheath, leather frog marked "REINHOLD ADAM / OBERURSEL TAUNUSI / 1937" with portapee.

Condition: Very good. The rifle retains 50% thinning blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some patches of gray on the receiver. The forward band is a renumbered replacement. The floor plate and trigger guard/base have a smooth brown patina with strong traces of blue in the protected areas. The stock is very good with a few minor gouges and some minor dings and scratches. The bayonet is excellent with 90% original blue finish with some minor edge wear and some minor scratches on the grips. The sheath retains 95% blue with the balance a smooth brown patina.
