Interesting single-shot target rifle, old customized, showing Remington Hepburn #3 action, double-set triggers, 34” half-round half-octagon slightly heavy weight barrel, custom made stocks with elaborate silveryinlays and ornamentations, veneer type tang sight, adjustable winage spirit level front sight, long range veneer tang sight. Barrel is mounted with scope blocks for long-tube type target scope. Illustrated Plate 15, page 119, in Our Rifles by Sawyer which tells of the shooting of this rifle and that it worked very nicely with 28-30-120 caliber ammunition. The text also questions the good taste of the fancy inlays and decorationsthat ornament this rifle. The rifle is stocked in good quality select walnut, the overall condition is very good plus showing 80-90% customized finish. Stock is good, silver inlays have tarnished. Bore fine toexcellent.
