Interesting percussion “buck and ball” combination rifle/shotgun by B.C. Wood, P. Post N.Y. with upper rifle barrel and lower shotgun barrel actuated via an underhammer mechanism with the gun’s trigger guard acting as the shotgun’s mainspring; checkered wood stock with engraved patchbox, back action lock that is also engraved, two wood ramrods; .38 caliber over 16 gauge, 33-1/2” barrels, both bores appear good overall, good actions, barrel assembly and lockplate both marked with maker’s name, rifle hammer screw an old replacement; beautifully grained wood stock in overall very good condition; accompanied by a rear tang sight that screws into thereceiver’s top tang.
