Interesting heavy barrel full stock percussion rifle with lock marked “Williams”, .40 cal., 40-1/2” octagon barrel, tiger striped maple stock with brass furniture including an unusual brass colored addition midway down the stock that would likely act as a forward hand rest for this rifle; the gun is in overall well-used condition with the barrel showing a dark brown patina with areas of erosion and old vine-type carving on the top flat at the breech and at the muzzle but no maker’s name visible; barrel has been heavily “bedded” into the full wood stock, the action is currently not working, double set triggers; wood stock shows several old repair areas along the barrel channel and around the lock area, particularly large repair on the left side of the lock at the top tang, also numerous nicks and mars from years of use and storage. Est.: $250-$500.
