Interesting cup-hilt broadsword with composite elements. The blade is an early Spanish type which we would date from the 1600's to 1750's. The guard and cup are Mexican or Caribbean style of 1750 to 1850.The hilt is carved Marine ivory with bust of lady and is 19th century with a later ferrule between the grip and the hilt. Consignor's oral tradition states that the sword was found in Cancun, Mexico in the 1950's andsold then as an old Pirate's sword. It has a good look and all the elements are antique and period associated. Est: $500 - $1,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
